The TTE6XX VTG is the next evolutionary step after the proven TTE580 VTG and was developed for Porsche 718 models with Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG)This upgrade retains the exceptionally fast response of the original VTG turbo, but significantly increases the power potential thanks to a larger, higher-flowing compressor in combination with a optimized 9-blade exhaust turbine.
As a basis we use the original BorgWarner VTG turbocharger, which by TheTurboEngineers is completely reworked. The standard compressor is replaced by a TTE 7+7-blade billet compressor, a design already seen in other TTE upgrades more than 600 hp has proven. At the same time we apply a larger high-flow 9-blade turbine which, despite its larger size, low in mass remains for a fast spool and low back pressure.
The result is a VTG turbo that responds faster than conventional fixed geometry turbos, but with significantly more top-end power. On a virtually standard Porsche 718, equipped with only an aftermarket exhaust system with a sports catalytic converter, 505 hp and 471 Nm at the wheels measured on 95 RON (91 octane) with WMI, bee 1.6 bar boost.
As with all TTE turbos, sustainability is key. Every TTE6XX is multiply balanced, inclusive high-speed VSR balancing up to 250,000 rpm, and comes with a numbered balance test report. Software modification is required to safely utilize the full potential.
This turbo is currently used in the world's fastest Porsche 718 on the Dragy leaderboards.
