Boost Cooler from Snow Performance
The Boost Cooler works in three ways. First, tiny water droplets injected into the intake system absorb heat from the intake air. These droplets then evaporate, further cooling the intake air, sometimes by up to 60°C. In the combustion chamber, the remaining water vapor generates steam, which consumes a significant amount of heat, acts as an anti-detonation agent, and reduces the buildup of carbon deposits in the engine.
Conventional intercooler
Unlike a conventional intercooler, water injection allows the intake air to be cooled below ambient temperature, resulting in more efficient cooling without the loss of boost pressure, as with conventional performance intercoolers. This can lead to performance gains of up to 20%.
