The TTE550 is TheTurboEngineers' Stage 2 hybrid turbo upgrade for the Mercedes-AMG A45 with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Developed to deliver up to 550 hp, this turbo combines advanced technology, unparalleled reliability, and a fully plug-and-play installation.
The original BorgWarner turbo forms the basis, but it is completely redesigned internally. The standard supercharger makes way for a larger, billet-milled 7+7 impeller with extended tip technology, resulting in higher efficiency and significantly improved airflow. The compressor housing is CNC-machined to create perfect clearance around the new impeller, significantly increasing turbo efficiency.
A 9-blade high-flow turbine, specially designed by TTE, is mounted on the exhaust side. This turbine reduces backpressure, lowers exhaust gas temperatures, and enables higher boost levels without compromising durability. Its extremely low weight also ensures fast spooling and smooth throttle response.
The TTE550 is equipped with an OEM 7-pad high-load bearing system and a 360° thrust bearing for maximum durability. Each turbo is individually high-speed balanced (VSR) up to 250,000 rpm and comes with an official balance test results document. For optimal performance, TTE recommends a AMS intercooler and replacement of the OEM 50mm concertina hose with a MST 60 mm inlet.
