The TTE485 IS20 is an advanced hybrid performance upgrade based on the original IHI Hitachi IS20 turbo for the EA888 Gen 3 (MQB) platform. This turbo delivers Stage 3 IS38-like power of excellent spool and response, while retaining the compact IS20 base. TTE positions the TTE485 as one of the best performing IS20 hybrids under 500 hp that are currently available.
For the TTE485 the original compressor is replaced by a much larger and more efficient TTE billet 6+6 compressor wheel of Extended Tip TechnologyThe compressor cover is CNC machined to optimal clearances. On the exhaust side, the original turbine is replaced by a TTE 9-blade high-flow low-mass turbine, for which the turbine housing is CNC modified. This results in lower back pressure, lower EGTs and faster spool.
In addition, TTE installs a CNC machined silencer delete in the turbo exhaust, which removes the internal muffler for better flow and a sportier sound. It TTE 360° upgrade thrust bearing increases durability at higher loads. Each turbo is multiply balanced, inclusive high-speed VSR balancing up to 250,000 rpm, and comes with a numbered balance test report. Software recalibration is required.
NB: When submitting it must be a original IHI Hitachi IS20 are (not Continental). Continental vehicles are only suitable with a new TTE485.
