The core of the TTE420 is a much larger 2871X TTE billet compressor wheel of the latest generation with very thin blades. This results in a extremely high airflow for its size and a very wide compressor mapThe compressor housing is CNC machined to precise tolerances for maximum efficiency. The original PCV port is closed off and replaced with a TTE smooth-flow billet cover plate, while the intake pipe CNC machined and hand finished is used for a smooth transition and optimal airflow.
On the exhaust side a much larger BorgWarner K16 turbine and shaft mounted, while the K04 core is retained. This K16 turbine is clipped and lightened, what the back pressure decreases, EGTs reduces and safely enables higher boost levels. Despite this larger turbine, the response almost identical to standard K04, of significant gains in power and torque.
The turbo is further equipped with a TTE CNC silencer delete, An billet boost adapter, and a CNC Billet TTE Recirculation Valve Adapter which makes it possible to original VAG recirculation valve to maintain for OEM fit and trouble-free operation. A TTE-developed 360° motorsport bearing system ensures durability under high loads without loss of transient response. The actuator used is a improved spring loaded OE unit and reinforced clamps.
Each TTE420 is multiply balanced, inclusive high-speed VSR balancing up to 250,000 rpm, and comes with a numbered balance test report. Software recalibration is required.
