The Mishimoto Heat Protection Tape It is designed to reflect heat and protect sensitive engine parts from high engine temperatures. This tape is made of a highly reflective metallized polyimide film, the same material used by the aerospace industry to protect sensitive instruments from high temperatures. The film is laminated onto glass cloth with a high-temperature lamination adhesive.
The tape can withstand temperatures up to 675°F (357°C) and adheres using a high-temperature pressure-sensitive adhesive, which is protected by an easily removable protective layer.
