It Eventuri Carbon Fiber Intake System for the Audi S4 / S5 B9 2.9 TFSI has been developed to provide a less restrictive airflow to the turbo, while keeping intake temperatures low. The 2.9T engine bay heats up quickly, so an open cone system would result in better airflow but higher intake temperatures. Eventuri has therefore completely redesigned the intake system, from the intake pipe to the grille, with a highly efficient carbon fiber enclosed system.
