BMW S58 G80/G82 M3/M3 Competition/M4/M4 Competition Transition Pipe to be announced.
One area that could use improvement is the design of the exhaust system's midpipe. The G80/G82 M3 and M4 use a Y-style midpipe, with both downpipes on the right side of the engine.
The downpipe on the left side is connected to a "transition pipe" that runs under the transmission and connects to the midpipes on the left side. Unfortunately, the standard shape of the transition pipe is oval to create sufficient clearance under the transmission. This change from a round pipe to an oval shape causes turbulence in the pipe, resulting in a restriction in the exhaust flow.
We've developed a replacement transition pipe that maintains the round shape, eliminating the turbulence and restriction caused by the oval design. This results in a significant increase in power and torque, improving overall performance.
