The Akrapovic Slip-On Line (Titanium) offers a distinctive sound during gear changes, combined with enhanced power and torque, all packaged in a full titanium system that is ECE type-approval compliant. Manufactured from lightweight high-strength titanium alloys and finished with two sets of carbon/titanium tailpipes, the system features complex components machined in Akrapovic’s own titanium foundry, including the valve housings and collectors from the central muffler to the tailpipes. Two valves – one on each side of the muffler – control gas flow to produce that unmistakable Akrapovic sound, which is clearly distinguished from the X5M equipped with a standard system. The exhaust note is most noticeable during gear changes and acceleration, and this can be further controlled with the optional Akrapovic Sound Kit for an even more intensive listening experience. Akrapovic have achieved power gains of 12.1 hp at 2,400 rpm and a torque increase of 35.4 Nm at 2,400 rpm compared to a BMW X5M with a standard M Sport exhaust system on their in-house dyno. As a further enhancement, Akrapovic have created optional parts to alter the visual appeal of the car and accompany it with the beautiful finish of the system’s tailpipes. An extra special touch can be added to the visual experience with a hand-crafted carbon fiber diffuser.
