Airtec Motorsport Stage 2 front mount intercooler kit for the Ford Focus RS Mk1 2.0 Turbo, developed for vehicles from approximately 350 hp and higher. An essential upgrade for every modified Focus RS that wants to get the most out of its setup.
The original charge cooler system functions reasonably well on standard vehicles, but with increased turbo pressure and higher power outputs, coolant temperatures rise rapidly. As a result, Air Charge Temperatures (ACT) rise to levels where the engine management system reduces power and reliability is compromised.
The Airtec Stage 2 front mount intercooler replaces the original charge cooler system with an efficient setup with a huge 100 mm high-flow coreAs a result, intake temperatures remain significantly lower, even under heavy load and at high power levels.
The kit comes complete with aluminium boost pipes, silicone hoses, stainless steel hose clamps, a battery displacement plate, and all necessary mounting hardware for a full conversion.
Assembly takes on average 4 to 6 hours and requires no grinding, welding, or drilling. The turbohousing also does not need to be modified.
NB: This kit is designed for use with a K&N Gen2 intake or a similar system. The original airbox cannot be retained.
NB: All intercooler kits come with a dump valve connection. If this is not used, it can be easily sealed off with a blanking plug.
