The Airtec Motorsport 2-Piece Breather Kit has been developed for the Ford Focus ST and Focus RS Mk2 to definitively solve a common problem with the original Ford oil filter housing. As power levels rise due to tuning, the vulnerable diaphragm construction of the original housing comes under increasing pressure, which can lead to torn diaphragms, boost leaks, and power loss.
The Airtec solution replaces the weak original system with a completely improved crankcase ventilation solution with a modified and baffled Ford oil filter housing and a separate Airtec Motorsport oil separatorThis allows the engine to bleed much more efficiently without the limitations of the original system.
Unlike the OEM system, which recirculates vapors back into the intake, this kit allows the engine to breathe more freely by venting crankcase vapors to the atmosphere. This makes the kit particularly suitable for cars used for sporty street driving, track days, and higher power levels.
The kit comes with high-quality fluorosilicone oil-resistant hoses from Pro Hoses, specially shaped for an optimal fit in the engine compartment. Additionally, all necessary stainless steel hose clamps, gaskets, and mounting materials are included.
Important: Because the engine can vent better, existing wear problems that were previously hidden by the original system may become more visible. In engines with increased wear, more vaporization or smoke development may become visible after installation. Airtec therefore advises installing this kit only on engines that are in good technical condition.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is this upgrade necessary?
With higher turbo pressure and tuning, the original Ford membrane in the oil filter housing can tear, leading to boost leaks and power loss. This kit prevents that problem.
Why does this kit use an oil separator?
The oil separator helps separate oil vapors and contaminants before they leave the ventilation system, ensuring more efficient crankcase ventilation.
Can I see more vapor or smoke after installation?
In engines with existing wear, the improved ventilation can reveal problems that previously remained hidden. Therefore, Airtec recommends installation on a technically sound engine.
