Airtec Motorsport front mount intercooler upgrade for the Volkswagen Golf Mk4 1.8 20VT, developed to replace the restrictive original intercooler and pipe system with a much more efficient solution with higher airflow and better cooling performance.
This intercooler uses a single pass 60mm high flow core causing the intake air to flow through the system faster and more efficiently. This results in lower intake temperatures, better response, and more stable performance at increased turbo pressure.
The intercooler has been extensively tested on the dyno at AMD Tuning, where on a Stage 1 setup a gain of 12 hp measured in the mid-range. Higher stageof tuning benefit even more from the improved cooling capacity and airflow.
The kit retains the original fog lights and crash bar, although slight modification of the crash bar is required as described in the installation manual. Additionally, the rear of the center grille section must be modified for proper fit.
The set comes complete with 4/5-ply silicone hoses, stainless steel hose clamps, mounting brackets and all necessary fastening materials.
