The Airtec Motorsport Intercooler for the Ford Focus Mk3 Zetec S 1.6 EcoBoost is a front-mount intercooler upgrade for modified vehicles, developed for track use and sporty street use. The intercooler is fully developed and manufactured at the Airtec headquarters in the United Kingdom.
The intercooler is equipped with Airtec's fully proven 70mm bar-and-plate intercooler core in race specification, combined with cast aluminium end tanks. This specification has been tested at 300+ hp and provides consistent cooling for cars with 400+ hp. During the toughest tests on this core with conical end tanks, 540 hp was achieved at an intake temperature of 38 degrees.
The cast conical end tanks guide the compressed air smoothly through the intercooler and ensure a smooth airflow with maximum strength. The unique air-ram air intake runs across the full depth of the bumper opening and completely encloses the intercooler, forcing the airflow directly into the race-specification core.
The intercooler is available in Pro-Series Satin Black and can be provided with an Airtec logo in various colors free of charge, if desired, for a personalized look. Silver color in the photos is purely for illustrative purposes.
NB: For installation, the original Ford grille shutters must be removed. These can be easily unscrewed, after which the original wiring is attached to the supplied Airtec mounting bracket. Installation takes approximately 1 to 2 hours.
