The Airtec Motorsport V2 Carbon CAIS (Closed Air Induction System) for the Ford Focus RS Mk2 is back and improved based on years of practical experience. This second-generation closed intake system is manufactured from real carbon fiber and offers even better airflow, lower intake temperatures, and more power than the already popular predecessor.
Based on Airtec's successful WRC-inspired CAIS design, this updated version features a modified top section and an enlarged snorkel assembly to further optimize airflow towards the filter. This allows the engine to draw in fresh air more easily, resulting in more power, better throttle response, and smoother power delivery.
Inside the completely enclosed carbon airbox is an enormous AIRTEC Motorsport Group-A style cotton air filterBecause the system draws fresh air exclusively from the original front intake, heat soak problems are kept to a minimum and intake temperatures remain as low as possible.
The combination of the larger filter surface area, the improved airflow, and the thermal properties of carbon ensures a proven power gain of up to 20 hp, depending on the specifications of the vehicle.
In addition to the performance gain, the carbon airbox gives the engine bay a much more exclusive look and a deeper, sportier intake sound without becoming intrusive during normal use.
The kit comes complete with high-quality Pro Hoses silicone coupling hoses, stainless steel hose clamps, mounting materials, and an installation manual. Furthermore, the airbox is delivered fully assembled, so installation takes only a few minutes.
NB: Black, blue, and red silicone hoses are generally available from stock. Other colors are produced to order and have a longer delivery time.
