The Airtec Motorsport 2.5 inch Big Boost Pipe Kit Hot Side has been developed for Ford Focus RS Mk2 and top Focus ST225 builds that want to get the maximum out of their turbo system. This kit replaces the restrictive OEM piping between turbo and intercooler with a significantly larger 2.5-inch system, allowing the improves airflow and the turbo can work more efficiently.
Ford equipped both the Focus RS Mk2 and the ST225 with relatively narrow 2-inch boost pipes. As power increases, these pipes become an increasingly significant restriction. The Airtec solution replaces these constrictions with lightweight aluminium piping of a larger diameter, resulting in less resistance and better flow of compressed air.
In tests, Airtec saw a gain of 11.8 hp and 12 Nm of extra torque compared to the original Ford piping. This gain was achieved by installing only the larger piping.
All pipes are equipped with beaded ends to prevent hoses from coming loose under high turbo pressure. The kit is supplied including high-quality 5-ply silicone coupling hoses and all necessary mounting materials.
This version contains exclusively the hot side piping (turbo to intercooler) and is particularly suitable for vehicles from approximately 375 hpThe kit was developed and tested on a Focus RS Mk2 with approximately 400 hp.
NB: For the Focus ST225, the intercooler must be equipped with 2.5 inch connectionsThe original ST225 intercooler has 2-inch connections and is therefore not suitable for this kit.
NB: This kit does not fit the Airtec Stage 1 and Stage 2 intercoolers for the Focus ST225. Only the Airtec Stage 3 intercooler has the correct connection diameter.
