Airtec Motorsport intercooler upgrade for the Mini Cooper S F56, suitable for both pre-LCI and LCI (facelift) models.
In tuned cars, increased turbo pressure leads to higher intake temperatures, which leads to power loss and increased engine stress. Installing an upgraded intercooler reduces these temperatures, resulting in more consistent power and safer engine operation.
This intercooler is designed as a bolt-on upgrade and uses a race-spec bar-and-plate core With fast thermal recovery times. Thanks to the efficient design, charge temperatures are significantly reduced, which directly contributes to more usable power and improved reliability during sporty use. Airtec has developed this intercooler tested on the dynamometer, clearly showing that the outgoing intake temperatures are drastically lower than with the original intercooler. This difference remains stable over multiple runs, demonstrating that the intercooler continues to cool effectively under load.
The intercooler is equipped with thin-walled cast aluminum end tanks with a flowing design without sharp corners. This keeps the air velocity high and minimizes pressure loss. Installation is complete plug & play and required no additional adjustments.
