The Airtec Motorsport Air Conditioning Delete Kit is developed for owners of a Ford Focus ST225 Mk2, Focus RS Mk2 or Volvo C30 T5 who want to get the maximum out of their car. By removing the complete air conditioning system, weight is reduced and parasitic load on the engine decreases, resulting in a more direct response and more efficient power delivery.
The original air conditioning compressor system draws continuous power from the engine, even when the air conditioning is not actively being used. With this kit, the compressor is completely removed and replaced by a specially developed aluminum idler pulley system, allowing the accessory belt to be driven more efficiently.
The kit consists of a precision-machined aluminium pulley, CNC-machined mounting brackets, new serpentine belts, and all necessary mounting materials to safely remove the air conditioning system.
In addition to weight savings, this upgrade provides more space in the engine bay, which is particularly interesting for track cars and heavily modified vehicles.
NB: This kit has been developed for motorsport applications and is not recommended for normal street use.
NB: For installation, one sump bolt must be removed. Thanks to the three-point mounting system of the Airtec bracket, sufficient rigidity is maintained.
NB: Airtec strongly advises keeping the original underbody plate installed. This prevents water, dirt, or stone chips from getting onto the belts and pulleys, which can cause engine damage.
